Shane joined NISH in May 2005 after a rewarding career with the ServiceMaster Management Services Division for Healthcare which was acquired by ARAMARK.Shane was 24 years with The ServiceMaster Company and worked with the Healthcare Division serving Hospital groups in Kentucky,Indiana, Tennessee and North Carolina.  It was at Duke University Healthcare System with ServiceMaster when merged with ARAMARK.

His career started with the Baptist Healthcare System contracting to ServiceMaster for Environmental Services serving Paducah, Louisville, Lexington and Corbin, KY.  After seven years of providing  service for the training and quality for housekeeping and linen distribution, Shane was transferred with ServiceMaster to the Saint Joseph?s Healthcare System with an assortment of responsibilites to local hospitals and long term care centers owned by the system.   March 1991, Shane started at the Johnson City Medical Center in Eastern Tennessee to be closer to his ailing father.   Shane took a struggling laundry operation operated from the basement of the hospital and built a new state-of-the-art laundry facility that went on to serve seven additional hospitals. In December 1996 his father passed, soon after was asked to go to Duke University Health System and develop a laundry facility that would accommodate growth potential. Shane completed the laundry facility in 2002 and remained as the General Manager. As ServiceMaster was acquired by ARAMARK, Shane held a position as Technical Service Representative (TSR) for the Southeast United States.  In 2004 Shane moved back to Tennessee for his daughter?s educational needs and was recruited to NISH to provide support to the Agencies and Government entities with laundry operations.

With ServiceMaster Shane earned various awards. In his tenure with the company Shane won the covented Award for Excellence, twice,  time making him only one of two individuals in the company?s history.Shane holds awards for Quality, Financial Control, Employee Training and a wealth of other recognitions.

AbilityOne has expanded Shane's awareness of the potential for people that have a significant disability in the workplace. Since 2005 Shane has provided training under ALM (Association for Linen Management) in the (CLLM) Certified Linen and Laundry Manager program for over 70 NISH affiliated individuals. In addition, Shane provides support to the academic criteria at the American Linen and Laundry College and has taught on the campus and facilitated classes.Shane has published articles in the ALM Journal for healthcare laundry operations.
